Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Where can I buy your work?

A. I currently make all hand basins to order and sell most of my tableware at my regular studio sales and through my online shop. If you are looking for something specific or need something in a hurry it's best to contact me directly. My work is not stocked by any retailers.

Q. Can I visit your workshop?

A. If you're in Hobart, you're welcome to visit my workshop to see samples and discuss your requirements. By appointment only.

Q. Do you take orders for tableware?

 A. I occasionally take orders for tableware. This often depends on the size of the order and how my current schedule is looking. Please get in touch to discuss your requirements as I very much enjoy tackling bespoke tableware projects if my schedule allows. If you are looking one or two pieces for yourself or for a gift, take a look in my shop to see what is currently available or sign up to be notified of upcoming shop openings and sale events.

Q. How often is your shop stocked?

 A. The shop is restocked twice a year with a limited selection of items. You can receive prior notification of any shop opening or sale events by signing up here.

Q. How long will it be before I receive my hand basin?

A. Current lead time is approx. 12 weeks but this is subject to many variables. Pieces are often ready quicker and I always aim for efficiency. The nature of the hand making process and ceramics in general means that it is best to allow some flexibility in your timeframe. Ordering as early as possible is best.

Q. What if I can’t wait that long?

A. I occasionally have hand basins and tableware in stock and ready to ship, if you are in a hurry please don’t hesitate to get in touch to see what is available.

Q. Why does it take so long?

A. I make every piece by hand using traditional ceramics techniques which can not be rushed. There are many steps involved in making a ceramic object and timing is paramount to avoid failures and to ensure the quality of the product. Be patient, it’s worth it.

Q. What size are the hand basins?

A. As I make each basin by hand and to order I can customise items to suit your project. In general sizes range from around 300mm - 400mm diameter and 85mm - 130mm high.

Q. Do you supply the waste outlet with the basin?

At this stage I only supply the ceramic bowl. All other hardware will need to be sourced elsewhere.

Q. Do the hand basins come with a warranty?

 A. My hand basins come with a limited one year warranty, take a look here.

Q. Is shipping insured?

 A. Every piece is fully insured for any damage during shipping. I have great faith in my chosen couriers and currently have a 100% success rate.

Q. Do you ship interstate/overseas?

 A. I can ship anywhere in the world and will happily provide an estimate.

Q. How much is a hand basin?

 A. Retail price for one bespoke hand made wash basin is around $1600. I offer a 20% trade discount to building and design industry professionals. I require a 50% deposit before beginning work. The balance and shipping costs are due on completion prior to shipping.

Q. Am I eligible for the trade discount?

 A. If you are an architect, designer, builder or developer or you are working with one of these professionals on your project then you are likely to be eligible for my trade prices.
