All classes will be held at our pottery just outside Huonville, Tasmania.

Each 8 week term will consist of weekly 2.5 hour tuition sessions. Our small group classes will be a combination of focused exercises and free practice time. This allows students to progress consistently but also have plenty of time to be creative and relaxed about their practice.

You will be learning in a working production pottery. All classes will be taught by Lindsey, a full time ceramicist who has been working in the industry for over 12 years. With class groups of no more than 6 we aim to provide focused tuition which facilitates a steady progression of skills in a supportive and professional environment.

All students will progress at their own pace with guidance from Lindsey. We will discuss your progress regularly and encourage you to move to the next level of classes when the time is right.

We will provide all tools and specific equipment you will need during your class time. 

One bag of clay will be provided at your first class but any additional clay will need to be purchased throughout the term. Your clay can be purchased from us at RRP or you may bring your own to class after discussion with Lindsey.

Drinking water, tea and coffee will be available.

Please wear clothes that you do not mind getting dirty. Closed-toe shoes are a must and bring an apron if you desire. All good Tasmanians know to be prepared for variable weather, the workshop can be very chilly on cold days and we recommend layers.

Please bring materials for sketching and note taking. An old towel is very handy, along with a bag to carry your dirty apron and towel home.

These classes are not intended for those who wish to produce a body of work for commercial purposes. If you have intentions to sell your work or create a larger body of work, let’s have a chat.

Our workshop is located on a working farm and, although a flat area, students will be required to navigate some uneven ground and a gravel driveways to access the facility. Although we are working on it, unfortunately our current toilet facilities are not disability accessible.

We will be setting up a limited studio access program in the future. This will only be offered to students after discussion with Lindsey.

There will be one make-up class offered per student per term in the form of a two hour studio access session, pending availabilty. This is not a directly tutored class but Lindsey will be around to answer any  questions.

Please check your calendar carefully. Cancellations, transfers and refunds will be considered only if a replacement student can be found.

Classes will include the time and opportunity to apply the skills you learn to specific projects you are keen to undertake.

Classes are intended for participants 18 and over.

No. Firing will only be available to current students. A limited number of pieces can be fired each term but if you would like to fire more work we can discuss your options.
